Episode 78: Reinforcing MINDSET- Part 2
Cultivating a positive mindset is a pivotal practice in building a solid foundation that allows us to choose thoughts and actions that support our long-term goals.
In this 4- episode series, we're discussing 4 ways to reinforce positive mindset. In Episode 77, we introduced the topic of Reinforcing MINDSET and covered Part 1-Beginning each day with a positive statement or mantra. In this episode, we discuss Part 2, which is to focus on solutions rather than problems.
When we label situations as "problems", the brain interprets this as a threat. This activates the stress response (fight or flight) and this is NOT what we want when we're dealing with typical, everyday (non-threatening) situations. Rather, when we deal with situations and shift our focus to solutions, activity in the prefrontal cortex is facilitated and we are able to more readily formulate solutions to challenges.
